I had a mixed experience at the Edwardian Hotel in San Francisco. While the location was prime and the staff were friendly and helpful, the room left a bit to be desired in terms of size and amenities. Overall, I found it great for a budget stay but wouldn't call it a luxury hotel. 😊

Rooms

The room was quite small and lacked extra amenities, but it was clean and well-maintained. The bathroom had decent hot water, though the room felt a bit stuffy without air conditioning.

The hotel was conveniently located near a tram line and within walking distance to downtown areas. It was also close to local restaurants and coffee shops, making it easy to explore San Francisco.

There were some options available at the reception for coffee and tea, which was a nice touch to start the day. However, I didn't dine at the hotel.

I had an enjoyable stay at the Edwardian Hotel in San Francisco. The location was decent, and I appreciated the friendly service from the staff. However, the bathroom was quite outdated, which affected my overall perception of value for money.

Rooms
6.0
My room was on the smaller side but had comfy beds and was clean. I did notice the bathroom was outdated, which detracted from the overall experience.
Service
8.0
The staff, especially Clair and Jeffrey, were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to assist me, providing helpful directions and checking in on my stay.
Location

The location was good, with easy access to public transport options, allowing me to explore San Francisco without too much noise from the busy areas.
Dining

There was coffee and tea available downstairs, which was a nice touch to start my day. However, the lack of breakfast options was a slight downside.
Facilities

The amenities could use some updates; the lack of a fridge in the room and the outdated bathroom were inconvenient.

5.4/10

My stay at the Edwardian Hotel was quite mixed. The location is super convenient with public transport right at the doorstep, but the room I had was pretty cramped and didn't live up to my expectations. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the room itself left much to be desired in terms of comfort and amenities.

Rooms
5.0
My room was on the small side, literally no room to swing a cat. The bed took up most of the space, and there were some old upkeep issues like a non-functioning TV plug. The bedding felt dirty and I had to contend with a cold bathroom and a weird heating setup that I couldn't control.
Service
8.0
The staff were super nice and accommodating, really took ownership when it came to addressing issues. They were helpful with directions and made me feel right at home, which I appreciated, especially as a solo traveler.
Location
7.0
The location was perfect for getting around, with public transport literally at the doorstep. However, the area felt sketchy at night and there were some encounters with the local homelessness crisis. Still, I felt safe once I was back in the hotel.
Dining
5.0
There was no breakfast offered, which was a bit of a letdown, but they did have some drinks available at the reception. However, the options were pretty limited overall.
Facilities
5.0
I found the facilities to be basic, with no extra amenities like a mini-fridge or microwave in the room. There was a working elevator, but it didn't provide much for comfort beyond that.

My stay at the Edwardian Hotel was quite enjoyable overall! The location made it easy to access popular areas like Fisherman's Wharf, and the staff were notably friendly and helpful. However, the room did leave something to be desired in terms of maintenance, which affected my experience slightly. I really appreciated the charming atmosphere of the hotel, but improvements in the room quality are needed.

Rooms
6.0
I had a Deluxe Queen Room which was spacious, though some aspects like dated carpets and a few minor maintenance issues could use attention. The bed was comfortable, but the shower pressure was quite low. 🌟
Service

The staff were incredibly polite and went out of their way to assist me, especially with directions and recommendations. I felt they genuinely cared about my experience. Jeffrey in particular made my stay nice!
Location

The location is fantastic, right on Market Street with easy access to public transport. You can hop on a bus or tram to reach major attractions quickly, though the area can get a bit sketchy at night.
Dining
7.0
Coffee was available all day in the lobby, which was a nice touch. However, I didn't have a chance to explore dining options deeply during my stay.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had a charming old-fashioned elevator and offered secure luggage storage, which I appreciated. It could use some updates to match modern standards, though.

7.2/10

I enjoyed my stay at the Edwardian Hotel, which skillfully combines modern touches with the charm of its Edwardian heritage. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel well taken care of. however, the noise from Market Street was noticeable, especially with the single-pane windows. Overall, it's a great option for those looking for a central location and a budget-friendly choice.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean and well-maintained, although they are a bit quaint and small, typical of an older hotel. the decor had modern and retro elements which added a nice touch. Still, the single-pane windows let in quite a bit of street noise, and I experienced some minor inconveniences with heating during my stay.
Service
9.0
The staff was exceptionally warm and accommodating. I appreciated how the manager provided tons of useful information about local attractions and restaurants. They even kept my luggage safe for the day after I checked out, which was really helpful.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is excellent, right near a major metro station and close to several tourist attractions, such as Union Square and Chinatown. but I did notice some sketchy happenings outside at night, making it a bit unsettling if you're out late.
Dining
7.0
While I didn't dine extensively, the breakfast at the nearby café looked appealing with crisp salads and a good selection. the lobby also offered some snacks, which was a nice bonus.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel features some charming older facilities, including a vintage elevator. however, everything felt a bit cramped in line with the Edwardian style, and be prepared for the typical quirks of an older building.
